Living in Community. Living out the Story.
We want to live in relationship with other believers as we grow in deeper community with God and his people. We also seek to live the story of God’s love to those in our local communities and to those around the world.
Statement of Faith
Our statement of faith corresponds with that of the Christian Reformed Church of North America. The Contemporary Testimony of the Christian Reformed Church
expresses well what we believe and what our priorities are as a church.
The Christian Reformed Church is a mainline Protestant denomination that includes about 300,000 people across the US and Canada. We affirm the orthodox creeds (Nicene, Apostle's, and Athanasian) as well as some Reformed confessions (Heidelberg Catechism, Canons of Dordt, and Belgic Confession). Over 150 years ago, when we became an official denomination, our members were Dutch. Today, however, we are an increasingly diverse body of believers that are united by our affirmation of the aforementioned creeds and confessions, alongside a desire to see "God's kingdom come and will be done on earth as it is in heaven."
I grew up in the southwest suburbs of Chicago, and fell in love with Jesus and his church in a small non-denominational congregation in my neighborhood. I first encountered the sincerity and thoughtfulness of the Christian Reformed Church at Trinity Christian College (Palos Heights, IL), and have since found the CRC to be home. While at Calvin Theological Seminary, I found great joy in preaching and pastoral care...and also met my husband, Adam. I enjoy reading in coffee shops, playing Frisbee, cooking, watching NBA basketball (Go Timberwolves! Go Bulls!), and teaching my young daughters how to love God, each other, and others.
We have been married 17 years and live in Brooklyn Park. We have two children. We love to do anything outdoors like camping, hiking and fishing. At Faith Church we maintain the facilities.
I have over 20 years’ experience helping to build capacity in non-profits and churches. I am former Executive Director of Metro Meals on Wheels in the Twin Cities. I founded A Brush with Kindness, a nationwide program of Habitat for Humanity which partners with families to create stable housing. I have 10 years’ experience working in education, counseling kids struggling with emotional and behavioral issue’s as well as 6 years in ministry helping to plant churches in Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota. Here at Faith, I network and build relationships with community organizations to help members in our congregation find opportunities to live out their faith.
I've been at Faith Church since 1990. I've been involved in various ministries since. At the present time, I am the Director of Buildings and Grounds and the superintendent of Sunday school. After 33 years in the field of radiology, I have been renovating homes since 2009. My wife Carol and I like to travel in our spare time and look forward to being able to do that more in our retirement. My goal as B&G director is to maintain the property by keeping it in good. working condition, and functional and visually appealing for the neighborhood, visitors, and members.
I have been a member of Faith CRC for almost 20 years. It is my joy to be the Co-Director of Worship and Music in a church that has such a passion for God and community. Along with my position at Faith CRC, I am the Director of Orchestras at Maple Grove Senior High. I have four children and an amazing wife that keep me grounded in what is important. When I’m not making or listening to music, I enjoy being outdoors camping, hunting, hiking, boating, and traveling with my family.
I was blessed to grow up surrounded by the love of my family, church and community in Pella, Iowa. I’ve identified as a Christian my entire life but my faith became real when I left that valued cocoon, headed off to college and claimed it as my own. I’ve come to appreciate the grace of God more and more understanding my need for daily growth and renewal. My desire working with young people is to help connect them to God, each other and different circles in and outside the church. I’m a part-time professor engaged in a variety of ministry work helping others build Christian community, mature in their faith and become better disciples to others. I enjoy biking, spending time marveling at God’s handiwork in Minnesota and engaging with my children in a variety of activities. I’m fiercely loyal to my favorite sports teams and a lover of a wide variety of music.
I grew up in Savanna, IL, along with two sisters in a small town located along the Mississippi River. Growing up, I attended a Christian school and went to church 2-3 three times a week. I know a lot of people have problems with "church," as a rule. I agree that the church is far from perfect. But I love it because it introduced me to Jesus. While in college, I started serving as a youth leader and continued in that role for a couple years after graduating. Then I served churches in Mexico as a missionary. I met my now-wife, Erin, in the photo ID line in seminary in 2006. We've been serving as pastors separately and then together since 2010. In my free time I used to travel, watch sad movies, or hang out with friends. Now I am a parent, so I don't really have free time. But I love my daughters, watching NBA basketball, and eating good food. I also work part-time as a mobile DJ.
I’ve been a member of the Faith Church community for 35 years! It’s a privilege to serve my Faith family in the area of worship. I also teach piano and accompany school choirs. I enjoy reading, gardening, hiking, meeting friends for coffee, and traveling with my husband Randy to visit our daughters and sons-in-law in Tacoma, WA and Chicago.

LIVING IN COMMUNITY. LIVING OUT THE STORY.
I am a Bethel University graduate with a degree in Journalism. I love doing anything that involves being outside: kayaking, hiking, biking, rollerblading, swimming, running, camping, etc. Here at Faith Church I manage the church office, perform bookkeeping duties, facilitate communications, and partner with fellow staff members and church leaders to make sure everything runs smoothly.
I am an Electrical Engineer by training, and by avocation a technician in fields of computers, sound recording, video, lighting, architecture, and construction. I worked for 35 years in military avionics, and now my deepest interest is in training people about various technological aspects to improve the performance of worship leaders. For 40 years, I have been a servant leader who has taught others how to use lighting systems, microphone placements, wiring techniques, set development, and the development and use of soundboards.
We hope that each person we meet develops a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
We are reminded that our focus in life is on Jesus Christ and our relationship with Him.
We believe that every area of life has significance to God. We are always changing and "reforming" ourselves and our world as God leads us to be what He wants us to be.
We are not isolated as believers. Instead, we are called to worship and serve God together as believers, supporting one another in love.
We are located in the city of New Brighton, Minnesota which is just north of Minneapolis. We hope to make a difference in our neighborhood and the world around us.
